High Rise documents the view from the windows of one building for the last time. A wooden panel frames 36 prints developed on different days, showing the process of the prints decaying at different stages. Each picture consists of views taken from one of the many tower blocks in the city of Glasgow that are in the process of being demolished. The landscape framed by a window is subject to deterioration through subtle, precise colour tone variations. The line of sight gradually moves down on every level until it reaches the trees on the bottom level. The building carries away individual and collective memories through its demolition, as do the decaying photographs.
